Darwin Evolution uses an automated approach that is as close as possible to manual trading. As per the developer, Guillaume Duportal, the ATS does not use a high-risk approach. It is not a fast-scalping system but an ATS aiming at long-term profits. Duportal is from the United Arab Emirates. He has three years of experience in developing Forex trading tools. He has made two products and 21 signals. For support, the messaging option on the MQL5 site is provided by the developer. We could not find further info on the company like its founding year, phone number, etc.
Some of the key features that the developer focuses on in this FX robot are:
- It can work on 28 currency pairs at the same time.
- The FX EA comes with set files that do not need any optimization.
- It works in both directions, impulse, and correction.
- Changes in market conditions do not affect the performance.
- A low drawdown and high profits are assured with the use of options and indicators used by the ATS.
- This FX robot uses a new filter with disconnection settings before and after news events.
- It has many protective features for capital, percentage, currency, etc.
- The EA uses risk capital management.
- A minimum capital of $200 and the leverage of 1:30 or lower are recommended.
- The default setting is for the EURUSD pair using the M1 timeframe.
Trading strategies and currency pairs
As per the author, the system uses a strategy that is similar to manual trading. It does not open orders frequently and keeps positions open for several weeks or days to optimize the drawdown and increase the profits. Over 8 indicators and filters are used by the EA and it can work with any broker irrespective of the execution speed, spread, commission, etc. We could not find further explanation of the approach.
There are no backtests for this system as the developer explains that MT5 does not provide actual ticks. He further elaborates that the system uses two strategies that prevent the MT5 platform from making backtests simultaneously for the two strategies. Instead, he provides a performance summary of the trades of the EA which are shown on the MQL5 site. From the summary, (shown above) we can see that the drawdown is very low but the profits are high indicating an effective and low-risk approach.
Darwin Evolution trading statistics
A live real EUR account is present for this FX EA on the MQL5 site. Here is a screenshot of the trading results:
From the above trading info, we find that the EA has generated growth of 7% and a profit of €322 for an initial deposit of €5000. For the account that started in September 2021, a total of 18 trades have been completed with a maximum drawdown of 5.8% and profitability of 88.9%. The profit factor is 5.39. While the drawdown is low and profits are appreciable, we find the number of trades executed is very low for 21 weeks. Further, a major percentage of the growth was achieved in just a week, which indicates a risky approach.
Pricing and refund
To use this FX EA, you have to pay $999. A rental package costing $690 per year is also available besides a free demo account. There are no other details related to the features available with the package. We could not find a money-back guarantee for the package. When compared to the market average, we find the pricing is exorbitant.
What else you should know about Darwin Evolution
Unfortunately, we could not find user reviews for this FX robot on reputed third-party sites like Forexpeacearmy, Trustpilot, etc. Reviews are found on the MQL5 site with a rating of 5/5. But we do not consider them as there is a high chance of the feedback being manipulated. This is because the site promotes the product.
