Financial giant BlackRock Inc. has entered a new arena as it started an account in social media platform TikTok, Bloomberg reported.
BlackRock posted a 10-second clip that showed a group of young professionals in what could be the firm’s headquarters. It shows employee Kingsley Udoyi who makes the introduction by saying, “Guess what?”
Udoyi then announces the entry of BlackRock in TikTok, urging users to follow the account for tips on financial wellness, ending the video with footage of a BlackRock office facade.
Global Chief Marketing Officer Frank Cooper III said the company is looking to utilize TikTok as a means to educate the youth on finances for them to start building a strong future.
BlackRock is the latest financial institution to penetrate the social media platform, which has a number of Gen Z users.
