Aris Mining, a leading gold producer in Colombia, is anticipating a significant increase in gold production by 2026. The company’s two operations in the country, Segovia and Marmato Upper Mine, are set to play a crucial role in this expansion.
Impressive Production Performance
In 2023, Aris Mining achieved a remarkable gold output of 226,151 ounces from its Segovia operations and the Marmato Upper Mine. This falls within the forecasted range of 220,000 to 240,000 ounces, showcasing the company’s commitment to meeting targets.
Speaking on the achievement, Chief Executive Neil Woodyer expressed his satisfaction with Segovia Operations’ full-year production. He stated, “In 2023, our Segovia Operations delivered a total of 202,940 ounces, comfortably fulfilling our projected range of 195,000 to 210,000 ounces. Additionally, we have experienced substantial growth in mineral resources and reserves at Segovia, which further bolsters our plans for expanding the processing facilities.”
Ambitious Expansion Plans
Aris Mining has set high expectations for future gold production. The company aims to achieve a total gold production of between 220,000 and 240,000 ounces in 2024.
To accommodate this surge in production, Aris Mining is actively expanding the Segovia processing facility. The processing capacity will be increased by an impressive 50%, reaching 3,000 metric tons a day. This expansion project is scheduled for completion by early 2025.
Furthermore, Aris Mining is undertaking the construction of the new Marmato Lower Mine. The company anticipates its first gold pour from this mine to occur in late 2025. Collectively, these expansion endeavors are expected to propel Aris Mining towards its goal of producing approximately 500,000 ounces of gold in Colombia by 2026.
In conclusion, Aris Mining is poised for substantial growth in its gold production capabilities. With the completion of its expansion projects, the company is positioning itself as a major player in the Colombian mining industry, promising a bright future ahead.
